Northern Oregon Coast: Sunset and Stars Workshop - Aug 9-10 2024

Sale Price:$597.00 Original Price:$697.00

Location: Canon Beach to Astoria, Oregon

Date/Time: 6PM - 1AM both Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10, 2024

There’s nothing quite like a tall, cool glass of milk on those hot summer nights!

Join me and other like-minded artists for a two-night sunset and Milky Way photography workshop on the Oregon coast! The northern Oregon coast offers many locations that allow us to take advantage of epic scenery and galactic goodness, just over 90 minutes from Portland.

As we get into August the days begin to shorten and the Milky Way rises early in the evening. That means we can enjoy sunset at 8:30PM. Then by 10:30PM we get to see the galactic core and the brightest part of our galaxy stretched vertically across the top of the sky… Celestial beauty, at an hour that still allows us to get a little beauty rest of our own!

We'll be starting well before sunset on both Friday and Saturday, shooting through golden hour, sunset, and into blue-hour. Weather permitting, we will see the Milky Way rise high in the sky beginning in the 10PM hour. There will be little to no moon either of these evenings, improving our chances of experiencing a stellar night! (Get it? Stellar?) Everyone is on their own to secure lodging, food, etc. We’ll regroup at another location near Cannon Beach for Saturday night sunset and stars.

We'll tailor the experience to the skill level of each participant with plenty of one-on-one interaction as we work on basic camera techniques, composition, and exposure.

Don't miss this opportunity to work on your photography skills in these truly unique locations!

We will be shooting rain or shine... but we’re optimistic that we’ll be seeing plenty of stars.
